Opportunity Nation Higher Education Council Regional Summits
Each of Opportunity Nation’s Higher Education Council members have each committed to further spread the mission of Opportunity Nation by holding regional events around the country. Roots Jam and Poetry Slam
We were excited to be selected as the cause partner for the 2011 Roots Jam Session in February! This social awareness-themed night of music, headlined by the Roots and hosted by Jimmy Fallon, was an exciting platform to launch our campaign into the national spotlight. It gave us the incredible chance to introduce Opportunity Nation to a wide variety of entertainment leaders, including Chaka Khan, Sara Bareilles, Drew Barrymore, Prince and many others. Read more »
The 2011 Summit

Non-profit cause partner in 2011
Last February, through a partnership with Roots Jam, the largest pre-Grammy party, hosted by Jimmy Fallon’s studio band, the Roots, we engaged thousands of people with our work. Opportunity Nation was selected as the non-profit cause partner this year, and Chaka Khan, Sarah Bareilles, Prince, Drew Barrymore, Jimmy Fallon, and a host of others asked their networks to sign up and follow Opportunity Nation on Twitter and Facebook.
